I am putting toghther a football team this fall. Most of the group is back from last year but we need a few more players. We play Thursday Nights after Labor Day through CSSC at the LP South Fields. If interested email me jmr3523@hotmail.com
Does anyone know where there are pickup games of Ultimate Frisbee?? I played all the time in college and miss it like crazy. Brand new to the city and just looking to find a game!
So Chicago Sport & Social doesn't currently have any running opportunities, so I would like to share one with you.
Nike+ is hosting a 10k August 31st called The Human Race. It's taking place all around the world, and Chicago is one of the 25 cities. The race is down my Soldier Field at 6:30pm and ends at the stadium with a concert by Fall Out Boy at 8pm.
This race also supports charity. A portion of you race fee goes to one of three charities. Nike is supporting three different charities and when you register you choose which one you would like to support.
This is an amazing opportunity. This is the first race event anything like this. The goal is to have a million people running on the same day. If you're interested check it out at nikeplus.com!!
I have played soccer for Sports Monster and Chicago Sport and Social and I have believe that Sports Monster has the better league being run. The employees who work for the company were nice and very helpful throughout the whole process. I do recommend playing in one the Sports Monster leagues.
Has anyone seen or played this new game on the beach, called Spikeball? I've been down on the beach nearly every weekend since the start of summer, and I've see these guys and girls out there every weekend playing this game. They always seem to play on North Ave beach, in front of Castaways. Anyways, I stopped by and joined them for a game, and I have to say, it is an awesome game. It's similar to volleyball, but a lot more fun and competitive. I'm curious to see if anyone else has seen them playing or has played. I would like to start playing more.
