Run the day the whole world runs
So Chicago Sport & Social doesn't currently have any running opportunities, so I would like to share one with you. Nike+ is hosting a 10k August 31st called The Human Race. It's taking place all around the world, and Chicago is one of the 25 cities. The race is down my Soldier Field at 6:30pm and ends at the stadium with a concert by Fall Out Boy at 8pm. This race also supports charity. A portion of you race fee goes to one of three charities. Nike is supporting three different charities and when you register you choose which one you would like to support. This is an amazing opportunity. This is the first race event anything like this. The goal is to have a million people running on the same day. If you're interested check it out at nikeplus.com!!

Hi
Weren't you nominated as Athlete of the Month in a couple Chicago Athlete magazines? I admire your statements and perseverance. Jill

Fleet Feet Runs
Yeah, for the Nike sponsored runs, there's a bunch of different pace groups 11:30 on up to 8 i think. After the marathon though they'll go back to breaking people into groups based on how far you're running that day (3-7 miles). The group is much smaller then so there may or may not be someone close to your pace running the distance you want that day but you're pretty fast so I doubt you'd have trouble finding someone to run with.

Fleet Feet runs
Yeah all you have to do is show up at 6:30, it's great :) Also, from now until the marathon Nike is sponsoring the runs which means you get to try out Nike gear, they hold a raffle each week plus there's free food afterwards. I run to eat haha...

That's a great time! This is my first year running so I'm not that fast and came in at 2:36:36. It was a great experience just WAY too hot. Looking forward to the marathon. If you're looking for people to run with, the Piper's Alley Fleet Feet has fun runs every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday @ 6:30. You should check them out if you already haven't. Good luck with your training!
