BBall Team
DWM, I created a post a few weeks back about putting together a team. Here is the email that I am sending to people, email me back at kevin@eliteinsuranceinc.com if you are interested. I am glad you are interested in joining this team. Just to let you know, this is something I have been thinking about for a month or so, therefore I am not sure about any sponsorship or fees. As you read my post, you can kind of see where I am coming from in terms of being on a individual teams in the past with talent, but no basketball IQ. I have played in two leagues down in the city and both were individual teams. Needless to say, we would get blown out each game because even though I thought the team had good talent, there was no help defense, passing or etc , which is the key part of actually having a team. Therefore, I am trying to get all individuals together that would be interested in starting to play in leagues each season so we can learn how to play with each other and not have to go to games and know we are going to lose or just run up and down the court to see people throw up a shot as soon as they get the ball. I really like to get 7 guys all independent of each other, this way when we all play, there will be no working together with someone you are comfortable with. Another reason for having all individuals is that the first league that when we all play the first league, it will be inevitable that a guy is like what I described above (no defense, shoots every time he touches the ball). This way with all individuals, it will be easier to tell someone for the next league that, because of those reasons the team would rather not have that person back as opposed to having multiple friends on the team. Hopefully, this email helps you understand a little about how I would like to get a team together. I hope you don’t get the impression that I am full of myself or my skills, cause even though I have played a lot on my HS and college teams, I really haven’t played as much in the past year. Let me know if this is something that you might be interested in or if you have any questions or comments. The leagues with Chicago S &S start in July, however there are other leagues around the city that start in June that I would possibly like to sign up for if we all can get together for it.
